Brow Lift

Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Nearby Areas of Arizona

The upper portion of your face plays an important role in conveying emotional signals to others. If the forces of gravity have caused your forehead to sag as part of the aging process, you might find that you are giving off unintended signals to others. If you find that friends and family often comment that you seem “tired” or “angry,” it is likely due to a sagging forehead. This can have a significant impact on personal and professional relationships.

Fortunately, you can restore a more youthful appearance in the upper portion of your face with a brow lift. This procedure, also referred to as a forehead lift, will raise and smooth the forehead region, eliminating the tired or angry appearance commonly caused by the aging process.

You can learn more about the brow lift procedure and receive individualized treatment recommendations by speaking to Dr. Ali and Dr. Tamir in person. Please call 602-883-4483 today to schedule your complimentary consultation at our Phoenix plastic surgery office.

Benefits of a Brow Lift

Phoenix brow lift surgeonsA brow lift can have a dramatic impact on your appearance. Some of the benefits you may achieve from this procedure include:

  • Reduction of deep furrows in the forehead region for a more rejuvenated facial appearance
  • Softening or elimination of horizontal lines in the forehead
  • Improvement in the position and shape of the eyebrows, creating a youthful arch to the brow
  • Reduction in the appearance of frown lines

In addition to these aesthetic improvements, you may also experience psychological benefits such as a boost in self-confidence. By eliminating the tired or angry appearance associated with a sagging brow, you will also be able to put forth the best possible impression in your personal and professional endeavors.

Am I a Candidate for a Brow Lift?

In general, most brow lift candidates are men and women between the ages of 40 and 60 who would like to achieve the benefits listed above. You should be in good overall health and have realistic expectations for the outcome of your procedure. If you are a smoker, you must be willing to quit prior to your procedure and throughout the recovery since smoking can adversely impact healing.

In some instances, Dr. Ali and Dr. Tamir may recommend eyelid surgery in conjunction with a brow lift for enhanced results. The procedure can also be performed in conjunction with a facelift to achieve a more complete facial rejuvenation.

Your Customized Brow Lift Procedure

Dr. Ali and Dr. Tamir will customize your brow lift procedure based on your unique facial features, signs of aging and aesthetic goals. In most instances, they prefer the endoscopic brow lift technique, which uses a few small incisions (each less than an inch long) which are hidden behind the hairline. A camera is then used to assist with the release and elevation of the forehead.

In some instances, Dr. Ali and Dr. Tamir will perform an open brow lift. This technique utilizes an incision behind the hairline that is well concealed, even when swimming or in windy conditions. Forehead skin is then removed to smooth out any furrows or wrinkles.

The recovery process after a brow lift is relatively minor. Most patients experience very little pain following their procedure. There may be some mild swelling and bruising that may last a few days. Most patients are able to resume normal activities within a week.
