Many people have pockets of fat in undesirable places that don’t go away regardless of how much weight they lose overall. Each person’s fat distribution is determined by their genetics and cannot be altered by diet and exercise. Liposuction is a great way to remove this stubborn fat in order to achieve a more proportional figure. There are several different liposuction methods, but VASER liposuction is known as the most gentle and precise.

What is VASER Liposuction?

VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) liposuction is a high-quality, minimally invasive liposuction technology that provides precision body contouring. It uses ultrasound waves to disrupt the bonds between fat cells and is fat-selective, targeting desired areas of fat while protecting other tissue from damage. VASER liposuction provides immediate, precise, and transformative results after a single treatment. It can be used on the entire body, including delicate areas such as the neck and arms.

VASER Liposuction vs. Traditional Liposuction

VASER liposuction uses ultrasound waves instead of suction and is therefore more precise and gentler than traditional liposuction. This advanced technology allows surgeons to create more dramatic contouring and remove fat around muscle groups, making muscles look more defined. VASER liposuction can treat multiple areas in a single procedure and does not cause as much fatigue for the surgeon. VASER liposuction also causes less pain, swelling, bruising, and downtime than traditional liposuction, as well as less blood loss.

I don’t have enough good things to say about Dr. Tamir and his staff! I had a mommy makeover (breast lift and tummy tuck) and the whole experience has been absolutely amazing from start to finish. Dr. Tamir gave me new life and made me love my body again, his staff and nurses are amazing and so caring. I’ll send everyone here! Thank you!

How Does VASER Liposuction Work?

During a VASER liposuction procedure, the treatment area is injected with a local anesthetic and a saline solution to minimize bruising and bleeding. The surgeon then inserts ultrasound probes into the skin through a small incision and begins liquifying the fat. A cannula, or tiny tube, is then used to remove the fat and some of the saline solution. Some of the solution is left in your body to reduce pain after the procedure.

Who is a Candidate for VASER Liposuction?

You may be a good candidate for VASER liposuction if you are healthy and you’re at or near your ideal weight. Liposuction, of any kind, is not a weight-loss tool. It is for spot-treating fat deposits and revealing muscle tone. Because VASER liposuction causes less blood loss than traditional liposuction, it should be considered for patients undergoing large-volume liposuction or liposuction of tight, fibrous areas, such as the back or posterior flanks, where increased blood loss is expected. VASER liposuction is also a great choice for fat grafting. One study found that fat harvested using VASER liposuction had an 85-89% success rate when grafted. VASER liposuction is not recommended for people who smoke or have a history of bleeding conditions.

VASER Liposuction Results

In addition to the precise removal of targeted areas of fat, VASER liposuction results in higher skin retraction, creating smoother results than traditional liposuction. Your results will depend on your individual goals that you will discuss with your surgeon. Your results have the potential to be permanent if you maintain a healthy diet and exercise plan.

VASER Liposuction Recovery

After VASER liposuction, your body may be bruised and swollen in the treated areas. You will be given cotton pads to dress these areas, as they will be releasing fluid for the next 24 to 48 hours. You will need to wear a compression garment for several weeks to control the swelling. After 3 to 6 months, you will be able to see your results more clearly. However, for some people, it may take longer.
