Both men and women alike become unhappy with the forces of gravity later in their lives. Age certainly shows in the face, and years of unhealthy habits such as poor dieting, smoking, and sun exposure can certainly contribute to unwanted facial wrinkles and sagging. While injectables and fillers provide temporary solutions to this problem, a facelift surgery is the most comprehensive approach to getting rid of wrinkles and sagging skin on the face.

At Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery, Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa and Dr. Ali Mosharrafa offer an assortment of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures, fit to satisfy any patient’s needs. Located in Phoenix, Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery is the premier plastic surgery center in Arizona, with over 20 years of clinical experience in helping men and women get the look they’ve always dreamed of.

A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, can be applied to lower part of the face, around the nose, mouth, cheeks, and chin, and is intended to enhance the appearance of the face and neck. It is not uncommon for men and women to consider facelift surgery if they feel their face does not portray a youthful spirit and vibrant energy. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 117,555 women and 12,253 men underwent facelift surgeries in 2013.

When patients come in for a consultation about a facelift, a lot of the times they will ask about coupling their procedure with another. It is not uncommon for people to consider eyelid surgery, facial implants, or brow lift in compilation with a facelift. Based on a thorough physical assessment and medical history review by either Dr. Tamir Mosharrafa or Dr. Ali Mosharrafa, a surgical plan will be determined and may or may not include a coupled surgery. Our main goal is to preserve the patient’s natural beauty along with ensuring their safety.

What happens after your facelift surgery will differ patient to patient, but may include:

  • A compression garment with removal instructions for cleaning the incisions and showering.
  • Recommendations to rest: laying down to reduce swelling while keeping the head elevated.
  • Prescription medications for pain relief
  • Some bruising and swelling (which is normal!). These symptoms should gradually subside over the next 2 weeks.
  • Slight drainage for 48 hours.

Back to Overview

A breast cancer diagnosis is overwhelming in so many ways. There are a lot of emotions. Dr. Ali Mosharrafa and his entire staff put me at ease at every step. After surgery, I was very self conscious, and the way I was treated with each visit helped me as much as the excellent medical care. Whether it is for an elective procedure or a surgery due to illness, I cannot endorse Dr. Ali more as a physician and human.
