CO2 fractional laser treatments are an excellent non-surgical option to address aging signs, unwanted pigmentation, and more. At Mosharrafa Plastic Surgery, we offer Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX as a fractional laser option to help our patients achieve luminous, youthful skin.
What is the Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX?
The Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX is a type of CO2 fractional laser treatment. It is a minimally invasive and non-surgical option for resurfacing the skin to create a more youthful appearance and address issues such as dark spots or poor elasticity. As a fractional laser treatment, only small portions of the skin are treated using Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX. During treatment, small microchannels are created in the skin to stimulate the natural wound-healing response while leaving a majority of the skin completely untouched and therefore protected from damage. In addition, patients enjoy reduced side effects and downtime. Finally, unlike other laser treatment options, Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX requires just one treatment session to achieve the intended results.
What Can I Treat with Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX?
Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX can treat a variety of aging signs or other skin concerns. Because the treatment stimulates collagen production, patients will enjoy firmer skin with reduced laxity or sagging. Texture issues including fine lines, wrinkles, or scarring can also be reduced. Finally, Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX can be used to treat unwanted pigmentation such as sunspots, age spots, or acne scars.
How Long Does the Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX Procedure Take?
The Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX typically takes about thirty minutes to complete. Your procedure may be performed with anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout treatment. Patients can return home immediately after the short procedure and will not require additional treatment sessions to achieve their ideal results. During a consultation, Dr. Mosharrafa will explain what you can expect.
What is Recovery Like After Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX?
Lumenis UltraPulse TotalFX usually requires about two days of downtime with a total healing period of about five days. Through this healing period, you will likely notice some redness, minimal swelling, and tenderness or sensitivity. You may also notice some peeling or slight crusting of the treatment area. If necessary, you can take over-the-counter pain medications to maintain your comfort through this time. When this healing period is complete, you will immediately notice firmer, tighter skin that appears refreshed with more even tone and texture. Your skin will continue to improve over the course of about six months as new collagen production continues.
